Context

Royal Vélo France has been distributing components, peripherals, accessories and equipment for bicycles and cyclists in France for over 35 years. They support international brands in their distribution to French professionals (shops, chain stores, retailers, etc.).

To meet the challenges and expectations of professionals, RVF has undertaken a migration and redesign of its ecommerce site dedicated to professionals.

Solution

Business customers on an e-commerce site have specific expectations. We wanted to offer them a smooth shopping experience, with intuitive navigation and features tailored to their needs. The decision was taken to migrate to the BigCommerce platform and customise the solution.

One of the key points of this overhaul was to the introduction of more complete product sheets, connected to a PIM (Product Information Management). This system centralises and optimises the management of product information, guaranteeing professional customers detailed descriptions, up-to-date technical data and high-quality visuals. As well as offering a better user experience, this connection to the PIM ensures consistency of information across all sales channels.

The emphasis has also been placed on transparency of information, with clear details of stock availability, delivery times and terms and conditions of sale.

In addition, a new approach to the menu has been adopted to more intuitive navigation.
Users can now browse the main menu vertically by product type (components, accessories, equipment). The creation of a horizontal navigation system has enabled the introduction of more immersive themed entries: "new products" and "promotions". This dual navigation enabled customers to browse quickly by product category or to go to immersive sections dedicated to promotions, news, new products, etc.

Key features have also been retained and developed, such as the creation of multi-user accounts with distinct authorisation levels, making it easier to manage orders within teams.

Finally, in recognition of the fact that these professionals are often cycling enthusiasts themselves, a "News" section has been added to the site. to keep them up to date with the latest innovations and trends in the sector.

All in all, this overhaul has enabled RVF to offer a high-performance platform tailored to the needs of its BtoB customers while preparing for future needs.
